The bowl shaped steel wire wheel (also known as bowl brush steel wire wheel) is widely used in metal rust removal, weld cleaning, deburring and other operations. To ensure safe and efficient use, please strictly follow the following precautions:
1. Pre use inspection
✅ Check the integrity of the wire wheel: Ensure that there are no broken, loose, or severely worn wires to prevent splashing and injury during operation.
✅ Confirm stable installation: Use the correct specifications of clamps or flanges during installation to avoid loosening and detachment.
✅ Match equipment speed: Check the maximum allowable speed (RPM) of the wire wheel and strictly prohibit overspeed use (refer to product label).
2. Operational safety regulations
Wear protective equipment:
Goggles/face shields (to prevent wire breakage and splashing from injuring the eyes).
Cut resistant gloves (to prevent hands from being scratched by steel wires).
Protective clothing (long sleeved clothing to reduce skin contact).
Correct homework posture:
Keep the workpiece fixed to avoid the risk of rebound.
The wire wheel should be inclined at an angle of 15 °~30 ° to the surface of the workpiece to avoid vertical pressure causing wire breakage.
⚠ Prohibit dangerous operations:
❌ Not suitable for non-metallic materials such as plastic and wood to avoid fire or material damage.
❌ Do not apply lateral pressure, only use the bowl surface to contact the workpiece.
❌ Prohibited from use in flammable and explosive environments (may generate sparks).
3. Maintenance and replacement
🛠 Regularly clean up debris: Use a wire brush or compressed air to remove residual metal shavings from the wheel to prevent blockages and affect efficiency.
Timely replacement standard: When the steel wire wears down to one-third of its original length or breaks extensively, a new wheel must be replaced.
4. Storage requirements
Store in a dry environment to avoid rusting caused by moisture.
🚫 Avoid stacking or squeezing with heavy objects to prevent deformation of the steel wire.
Examples of applicable scenarios:
Cleaning of welding slag after welding
Stainless steel surface drawing treatment
Deburring of castings
Common problem handling:
Serious shaking of the wire wheel → Check whether the equipment spindle is eccentric or not installed firmly.
Decreased cleaning efficiency → Replace severely worn wire wheels or adjust speed/pressure.
Following the above specifications can significantly extend the tool life and ensure job safety!
